    Why Trade Links?
Appearing high in search engine results for keywords related to your site is critical in delivering high quality FREE traffic to your site.     Are you a link farm, webring, or other spammy hack site that can HURT my page rank?
No, InetLinkExchange.com is NOT a link farm. A link farm is a site that will promise you thousands if instant return links to your site. Please do not use such services.

InetLinkExchange prides itself on the fact that our program retains the integrity of the reciprocal link process. While this is more work than the instant gratification you get when you get "thousands of links instantly", the long term benefits cannot be questioned. Using a link farm puts your very existence in the search engines at risk.

Requirements - Can I Use InetLinkExchange?
How Do I Qualify For InetLinkExchange.com?
If you are a webmaster, or are in charge of adding or removing reciprocal links for a website, you qualify for InetLinkExchange.com’s Link Exchange Directory.

We verify links using a spider. If your site does not show the actual link to your partners site, but contains a link to a database which then points to your partners site, our spider will not be able to verify your link and we may not be a good match for you. Such link pages do not provide "page rank" value to your link partners as these links cannot be indexed by the search engines.

We also ask that you place a link to InetLinkExchange.com on your site. There are a variety of ways to place this link. Click here to learn more.

What are the URL requirements for InetLinkExchange.com?
Any URL listed must be the base domain. We do not allow multiple pages under the same domain to be listed. Only your landing page.

For example,
http://mydomain.com is a good URL to list with us.
http://mydomain.com/directory1/directory2/somefilename.html is NOT a good URL to list with us.

What Is InetLinkExchange.com’s Reciprocal Link Information?
You can find information about how to link to us under the Resources tab, under Logos and Links. Click here to visit that page now.
How Does The Link Trade Process Work?
    How Do I Trade Links?
The link trade process is easy. There are 4 steps in the process involving 2 parties, A and B:

1. Party A requests a link trade with party B.
2. Party B accepts or denies the link request.
3. Party A adds B’s link to their site.
4. Party B adds A’s link to their site.

Step 1: To request a link trade, simply browse our directory by category, sub category, or by specific keywords using the search facility. Check the boxes of the sites you would like to trade links with and add those sites to your link cart.

Once you’re done shopping for sites, go to the “Link Cart” tab and click “Send Requests”. The sites you selected are automatically notified that they have a link request.

Step 2: To accept or deny a link request, login to your account and look through your link jobs on the “Link Jobs” tab. When you click the “reply” link, you have the option to then “Accept” or “Deny” the link request.

Steps 3 and 4: To add a link to your site, login to your account and look through your link jobs on the “Link Jobs” tab. When you click “Link”, you see a screen that displays all the information you need to build the link on your site, including the actual html if you choose to use it. Once the link has been added to your site, simply enter the url where you added the link in the space provided and click “Submit Link”. The url you enter must be the exact page on your site where you placed your partners link or our spider will not be able to verify the link. Our system will verify that the link has been added and notify your link partner.

To get a better feel for these steps, click "Site Tour" above.

I Added My Partners Link - Your Spider Isn't Finding It. Why?
There are several things you should verify if our spider is not finding your partners link.

1. Make sure you are entering the specific url of the link page on your site where you added the actual html link to your link exchange partner. If you tell us the wrong page, or your home page instead of the link page, then our spider will not find the link to your partner.

2. Make sure your html code is correct. If you omit a / in the http:// for example, or link to your partners link page instead of the page they have listed in our directory, our spider will not find the link.

3. The "www" does matter. Since the page rank for "www.yourdomain.com" can be different than the page rank for "yourdomain.com", you need to code the url to your link partner as they entered it into our directory. That is how they prefer to be linked to and our spider checks for the link in that format.

4. You might check your link page to make sure it is available. If the page is down temporarily, for whatever reason, then we won't be able to open the page to look for the link.

5. If your link pages do not directly link to your partners site but go through a database first, then our spider will not find the link to your partner. Sites that use this type of linking strategy do not qualify for InetLinkExchange.com and do not provide "page rank" value to their link partners as these links cannot be indexed by the search engines.

6. If you have validated the above items and still cannot get our spider to find your partners link, submit a help ticket and include the url you entered in item 1 above, and the link partners site in item 2 above.

How Do I Remove Worthless Jobs From My Jobs List?
There will be sites that will be unresponsive. If you would like to keep your jobs list clean, you can “deactivate” jobs on which you don’t expect to get a response.

Or perhaps you have successfully completed steps 1-3, but never receive the final return link. In that situation, you may decide to take down the link to your partner and “deactivate” the job.

It’s up to you how you manage your jobs.

Jobs on which your partner must act are shown on the “Their Jobs” subtab under the “Link Jobs” tab. Under the "Action" column, there is an option to "DeActivate" a job.

How Many Sites Can I Have In My Link Cart?
We currently have a 30 site restriction on your Link Cart. This is for performance reasons. Once your Link Cart is full (this is displayed above the button to add sites to your cart on the Directory pages), simply go to the Link Cart tab and submit your link requests. This will send the requests for the sites in your cart and empty the cart so you can search for additional sites.
How Do I Look At Outstanding Jobs My Partners Have To Act On?
Jobs on which your partner must act are shown on the “Link Jobs” tab under the “View Their Link Jobs” page.
How Do I Look At Completed Jobs?
View completed jobs under the "Link Jobs" tab on the "View Completed Link Jobs" page.
    Can I Sort My Jobs?
Yes, you can sort jobs by Date or by Action. Simply click on the column title to sort.
How Do I Contact A Web Site About A Trade Issue I Have With Them?
For privacy reasons, we do not give out any website contact email address. You can browse their site to see if they have a “contact us” page or an email address.
How Do I Find Relevant Sites To Trade Links With?
You can find sites to trade with by browsing our directory. Login to your account, go to the “Directory” tab, click on a category, a sub category, or enter specific keywords using the search facility.
    What Is The Alexa Link?
Alexa.com is a site which provides traffic information about sites on the web. You can use this as a tool to help evaluate whether a site meets your criteria for a trade.
What Is The Green Bar Image On The Directory Results? Google Rank?
The green bar image associated with each site on the Directory search results is a representation of the Google PageRank. This ranking is something you should consider as part of your criteria for selecting sites to exchange links.
How Can I Check That A Partner Has Really Put My Link Up On Their Site?
You can validate a return link by going to the “Link Jobs” tab, finding the trade in question, clicking on the “Details” link, and using our validation facility on that page. You will see a red light image for a broken link and a green light image for an active link. You can also click on the “Check Rerurn Link” text and our spider will search the page where the link to your site is supposed to reside and report back to you if it was found.
How Do I Review Details Of A Trade?
You can review the details of a trade on the “Details” page. You can find this page a couple ways. 1. By browsing our directory – if you have traded links with a site, the directory will have a link to the trade details page. 2. By going to the “Link Jobs” tab and clicking on the “Details” link associated with each job.
How Do I Administer My Account?
I Have Multiple URL's. How Do I Switch Between The URL's?
Once you’ve logged on, you will notice just below the gray dividing line at the top of the page a link to “[Manage A Different URL]”. Click that link and you will be given a list of URL’s to choose from. The active URL you are working with will always be displayed beneath the gray dividing line.

How Many URL's Can I List With InetLinkExchange.com?
You can list as many URL's as you wish. You can list them under a single account or create multiple accounts. To add a URL to an existing account, logon to your account and visit the My Account tab. Click the "Add A New Site" link in the sub-navigaton bar at the top.
    What Are Filters?
Many webmasters only want to exchange links with sites that contain similar content to their own. The theory is that your page rank is influenced more by sites with similar content linking to you. You can choose to filter the sites with which you would like to exchange links. The filtering is accomplished through the categorization of each website registered with us. You decide which categories or sub-categories you would like to allow or disallow in your link trading strategy and we take care of the rest!
    How Do Filters Work?
We only allow sites to send link trade requests with sites who have allowed their category or sub-category – those sites who have not filtered their category or sub-category.

By using the filter option, you will limit the number of requests you receive, but each request will be relevant to your web sites categorization.

Even if you have signed up for filtering, you may still request links with any site who has not filtered your category (even if you have filtered their category).

How Can I Change My Filters?
Once you have logged in to your account, click the “My Account” tab using the navigation bar at the top of the page. From there, find the URL on which you wish to add filters and click the “Edit Filters” link. From their, simply follow the instructions and you can request the filters you desire for that URL.
How Do I Add A Second Site To My Account?
Once you've logged on to your account, go to the My Account tab. In the sub-navigation menu for My Account, click "Add A New Site".
How Do I Validate A New URL I’ve Added?
When you create your URL listing with us, you provide an email address. We send a verification email to that address. There is a link in that email, or if you prefer, you can visit our verification page and input the verification number we provide in that email.
